Automatic PR 4 with a PR 6 backlink?

I was able to get a PR 6 backlink and a PR 5 backlink for one of my sites I was working on. They are both dofollow. Someone told me that having a PR 6 backlink automatically makes you a PR 4. Is that true? Is there any way to really tell for sure what your page rank will be (not including any penalties.)

No, there are definitely no guarantees when it comes to PageRank especially the way it's been going lately. I have seen some crazy PageRank numbers go to website that you wouldn't think deserved them and websites get very low PR when I assumed they would be high.

The best way to think now is don't expect much and anything you get over that is a nice big juicy green surprise

Yes I have seen those crazy page rank numbers too. I actually have a crappy poem blog with only less than 30 post on blogger and it has got a PR 4 . Alot of people tell they would die for a PR 4. But I don't bother to maintain it because it was actually just a test blog that got lucky. When I am ready I'll just convert it to something else .

No idont think so !!! but as above written if that kind of thig occur then all the site will be having PR 10 on posting 10 poems !!! lol

There is nothing for sure in google algorythms. If the PR6 is from the same ninche and you have more(10-15 backlinks) i think it is achiable. The PR updates should be arriving any time soon , so you will know for sure.
