Autoresponder - Service or Self Hosted

Is it advisable to get an autoresponder script and host it on my server or just use one of those paid services available in the internet?

I was thinking on saving a little by just getting a script compared to paying a monthly service in the long run.

I would go with a paid service for sure. Save yourself the trouble spam complaints and possibly having your ISP cut you off.
