Best Link Building Method

This poll is for your favorite and most effective link building method. You can only choose one and take into account the time spent and money it costs to use each method.

Although article marketing is good, I voted for blog commenting... You can get some nice deep page links, on pages with higher PR. Some blogs offer CommentLuv so that you can get a link to one of your internal pages. And, some blogs offer top Commenter plugins which provide you with a sitewide link if you post enough. =)

I choose article marketing also because I'm lazy and it's easy :lol:

I agree that blog commenting can be good but you have to find follow blogs and actually take the time to write a good post.

I chose blog commenting, but I think it really depends on what you want to build links to. If you want to get links to a blog, your best bet would be through blog commenting. If you have a business website, the best way to build inbound links would be through article marketing or directory submissions.

Yes, and even though each person finds a certain method that they really like, only using one kind of link building will be very disappointing. Diversification is the key.... just like diversifying your income streams is very important, so is diversifying your link building methods... but, having a favorite isn't bad at all either. =)

You hit it on the head multiple link building strategies is the best method. I was just seeing what everyone's "favorite" was if they had to choose.

On a side note I really like how the polls work with this forum script, first time I tried it

Yes diversification is the key. And if I had to choose, I chose article marketing.

Article marketing looks easy to me. You just have to write and submit and in the long run it continues to work for you building the backlinks. Since time is always not on my side, I prefer an option that is 'self-working'

The reason why I choose directory submissions because to me its more effective than just submitting articles.
What I do is i have a form with all the questions directorys ask and i just copy and paste the info its alot faster than typing all your info in each directory.

I think this thread has brought about a good challenge for someone that has the time and it could be used as link bait. You purchase two new domain names on the same day from the say register. Then put each domain on the same hosting account.

Now submit to X amount of web directories and then submit to X amount of article directories and see what yields the best results. The results need to show the number of backlinks that were obtained and the search engine position for the keyword you were targeting.

So who is going to do it because I'm not :lol:

Directory submissions works fine fore me. It is very tiring job but in most cases its free.

That could be a good case study for my link building blog.... But, different factors like on page seo would be huge.... since i couldn't have an exact copy of a site, or one would get duplicate content penalty... backlinks would be okay to measure but it'd be almost impossible to gauge the SERP of each site accurately... Only someone who knows on page SEO could make each page "equal" with regards to title, headers, etc and the keyword density....

If you could create the sites, I'd do the legwork for submissions.
