How did you learn to design?

There are a lot of people with great designer skills. I wonder how did they manage to get that good? Is there any school for designers or something like that?

Most people including myself taught themselves by pretty much just messing around. Of course there are schools that can help you with design but it's pretty simple to teach yourself. Besides I'd rather teach myself for free than to be in debt for going to college

For, me, I just take already made templates, and attempt to customize them myself, and for the stuff that I don't know how to do, i search online to try and find the answer, or I simply just ask in a forum or someone I know on my aim list.

Well i learned html reading tutorials and then started with free templates. Read tutorials how to design stuff in photoshop and more messing around with templates and html
