My Main URL Was Penalized

My website was penalized because it doesn't rank for it's own name any more. My question is will will sub domains be penalized as well now?

Should I give up on this domain all together?

Well, if your website was penalized, then finding the reason it was penalized, and fixing the problem, and asking for reinclusion would be the best bet. The top 2 main reasons for being penalized are duplicate content and selling page rank. If you are selling links on your site that are no nofollow, then google will penalize your site... usually that is only an on-page page rank, and not necessarily a rankings penalty, although it happened to john chow, but he's high profile.

I'm going to try and dig into this more because you have peaked my interest. My initial guess would be that your entire domain name would be penalized including sub domains but let me see if I can find solid proof.

Is there something wrong you have done? Saying something wrong i mean wrong according to Google's TOS? If there is you better fix it quick. Is your site banned from SERP?
