Site loading problem

I am designing a site for a restaurant but I am facing problem with loading issues. Its very slow
I have used heavy images on my site could that be an issue for loading? How do i reduce the image size?

You can save all your images as gif that should help reduce the file size some. If you page loads that slow you probably need to use less images or make the actual image smaller.

What is the file extentions of the images? You are not using BMP, are you? In case you are replace them with high compressed JPGs.

Admin suggested you can also use GIF also. GIF are best for areas of the site where you have only one color or nothing too colorful and detailed.
