In some writing job forums, the writers who sell their work for pennies can bring down the prices for everyone, even those who do not want to work as slave labor. Many times, I have been told that my reasonable prices for work are quite high compared to other writers and I have lost work despite being a decent writer just because I refuse to write for one penny or less per word.
As any freelance writer knows, there are many web sites looking for writers to submit their work to their site because the web host offers a small percentage of the ad revenue that is made from the author's work. Unless such a company has a great promotional program in place, authors may receive a small pittance for their work and the income is so small that it is not very helpful. This is very frustrating for someone who needs to make money from his or her writing skills.
I have found two places that let the author post their work and set their own prices. I have sold articles at constant-content.com and I have just found dailyarticle.com, which has the same type of set up. It is free to join both web sites. The companies display your work and take a percentage of the buying price from you (up to 35%). You are able to write and sell your work without the bother of having to promote your site or find clients. The clients visit these sites looking for work.
